06-19-2026 Friday, Columbia Gorge to the Threetersons Harvest Host (HaHa), Powell Butte, OR

We left this morning at 9:45 AM after going to the office to pick up our free hats. They have a deal that if you give them a five-star review, you get a free hat. Haha, sounds like extortion, but we would have given them a five-star review anyway. The park is awesome and close to the things we wanted to see.

I will, again, mention that the bridge we had to take from the Washington side to the Oregon side is a nightmare. It is very narrow, and if you're wider than 9 feet, it is not recommended. It’s OK until you meet a semi-truck. People with cars will stop on the bridge to let the semis pass. We had to do that but ended up hitting Julie’s lug nut wheel caps on the right side. We thought we hit the side of the RV and stopped at the first pull-out we could to investigate. Thank goodness it wasn’t the side, but only the decorative wheel lug nut covers, which saved the paint from getting scraped. Whew...how lucky that was. We loved the campsite, but because of that bridge, we won’t be back to this area on the Washington side. We would do something on the Oregon side of the gorge or farther west of the Washington side. In the video below, you can hear us hit the side of the bridge as a white semi and another yellow semi passed us while we were almost over the bridge. It was not a pleasant ride.

On our way today to Ryan and Amanda’s. Looking forward to seeing everyone and celebrating Addison’s 16th Birthday.

Arrived in the afternoon and scraped the back right tire on the rocks entering the driveway...uuuggg! Barry felt this was the worst travel day ever and I agree with him. We parked, got all hooked up, and off to Mexican food at Diego’s Spirited Kitchen with everyone. Ross, Malory and Emery were here too for the celebration—great food and margaritas. We’ve been to this restaurant before and highly recommend it.

Full day of activities and so much fun seeing everyone. Tomorrow evening is the big party for Addison’s 16th. Still can’t believe it. What happened to our cute little great-niece?
