Crazy wind and cold again. We left this morning for the Going-to-the-Sun Road. The road is closed at Logan Pass due to avalanches and additional snow from the past few days. We can only drive about a third of the way. Better than not being able to drive it at all. I know we missed a lot due to the weather, but that was the only reservation I could get. Someone canceled right before I called last year on November 25 th . The Going-to-the-Sun Road was beautiful, with many pullouts and trailheads. We decided to stop and hike the Gunsight Trail. It was only a 1.3-mile trail, one way. We hiked for about half an hour, going downhill the entire time. It was a pretty good, steep trail. I was concerned about going back up, so we decided to head back up the trail. We did slowly due to Barry’s knee. It was still a beautiful hike, and I captured some great photos of wildflowers.
