06-11-2026 Thursday, Hot Springs, Montana to Post Falls, Idaho
We are driving out of Montana today to Post Falls, Idaho. We loved Montana, and if it didn’t get so much snow, we would consider living here. I’m very impressed with the state, the people, how clean the towns are, and the amount of stuff to do.
The fields and ranches on Highway 28 driving out of Hot Springs were so green and lush. The highway runs through the Flathead Indian Reservation. The reservation consists of 1,317,000 acres and controls most of the Flathead Lake area. I can’t express enough how lush, green, and beautiful this drive is.
Can’t remember where, but we saw a huge skeleton dressed as Uncle Sam. It must have been fifteen feet tall.
We rolled into Post Falls around 2:00 PM. The campground is only about three years old, so the trees are still young. The sites are concrete and level. The only downfall is that the site is above the freeway, so you hear a lot of road noise. Once settled, we were off to Ross and Malory’s for dinner. First time we get to see Emery since she was born. She is now a year old. They live just seven minutes from the campground. We had a very tasty dinner of BBQ salmon, rib-eye, mashed potatoes, and veggies.
They have a beautiful house, and we felt very comfortable. It was so much fun spending time with them and Emery. I can’t believe I didn’t take any photos. They have to go check on their trailer, which is a few hours away. Friends informed them it looked like a water leak. Unfortunately, our time with them is cut short. However, we will see them at Addison's 16th birthday party in a few weeks. I have to remember to take pictures.
