Elton came over for BBQ on Sunday. He helped his Uncle BBQ and says he learned a lot. We love having him over and the three of us can talk for hours. We are so proud of him.

LISA  CALL
Lisa explained to me how to approve blog posts and how to answer in return. Discussed chapters 4-6 of Zotero for Genealogy.

AMIGOS CALL (LISA, LINDA, STEWART)
Meet with the Amigos even though we were staying at Jessie's Grove winery. 

JAUNTS
June 9 – 11 we took our first RV trip to Lodi. We stayed at a Harvest Host Winery, Jessie's Grove. We had a great time. It was windy but we didn't let that stop us. They have the original land grant framed on the wall of the tasting room which I thought was very cool. The winery cat, Ditto, adopted us and even came into the RV and made herself at home. She took numerous naps on one of the chairs. We tasted at 2 other wineries, Klinker Brick and Mettler Winery. Both of these are Harvest Host wineries and we wanted to check out the area they provide for Harvest Host guests. Loved both wineries. We at dinner at High Water Brewery. They have a non-alcoholic Root Beer on tap. It was fabulous. Very successful trip and we enjoyed ourselves!

Honey Grove is known as "The Sweetest Town in Texas." When settlers arrived, they found numerous bee hives in the county.  I never thought in a million years I would visit Texas.  Just not a state I was interested in, even though my Dad was born and lived here until he was fourteen. Last year, my friend Lisa Gorrel and I decided to plan a trip for genealogy. We discovered we had ancestors in many of the same or nearby counties.  The weather in Texas was too hot by the time we decided last year, so we decided to go in the spring of 2024. This way, we could also experience the wildflowers.  I have not written anything in quite a while, but I have not felt like writing anything until now. Last night, I had a dream about my dad. In the dream, I think he forgave me for something that happened in High School. I woke up feeling apprehensive and emotional. It was hard for me not to cry. 03-16-22 Wednesday  Crescent City, California Crescent City Jeeps in Parking Lot: 2 Drive Time: 0 Miles: 0 Arrived: 0 Woke up to a beautiful morning. Simple breakfast of cereal and a banana. Cleaned up a bit and ready to explore the Redwoods. We stopped by the KOA office to let them know our cable signal was very snowy and the cable line had water in it. Also asked about the channels. The channels listed on the paper with the map of the park is wrong. The woman behind the counter says they change cable providers often so it’s never right....uuummmm. No comment from me. We bought a couple of nice lightweight jackets and off to the National Park Visitor Center in Crescent City.  Zoom in for details At the visitor center I got my passport stamp and purchased a few stickers for my passport book. The Ranger behind the counter pulled out a map and showed us how to get to Howland Road and some ideas for hikes in the area. One he told us about was a hike to the ‘Grove of Titans.’ This...

2023-03-25 Saturday Pismo Beach Oceano Campground

My Man! Steps today - 14,442 Saturday, and so much for sleeping in. The Reynolds daughter Brook, son-in-law Aaron, granddaughter Kensley, and grandson Arik arrived this morning. Soon we heard Kensley and Arik at our door to say hello. They seemed excited to see us, and they gave big hugs to both of us. Then, they told us about school, and everything they have been doing, as much as an 8 and 10-year-old can say to you. Then back over to abuela and papa's RV.  Soon after, we were off to Pismo Beach. We drove to the left, went as far as we could, then turned around and headed toward the far-end gate. The part of the beach you can drive on was so short compared to before, but it was due to the recent storms. The Reynolds were ahead of us, and as we passed the first gate, a guy flagged us down. His truck was stuck, and he needed a tow to get out of the hole he was in. Barry said sure, and I texted the others to let them know what was happening. They pulled off of the beach highway and w...
