We are off on another trip, 37 days this time. Most extended trip yet. From home to Bakersfield (one night) to hook up with Ken and Jan Reynolds and Dennis and Roma Mofford. The following morning our three RV caravan will head to Needles for one night. Next is Grand Canyon, then Utah’s Five Parks, off to Las Vegas, and head to Bakersfield, Morrow Bay, north to Moss Landing (visiting Ashlee, Michael, Behr, and Amelie), and home.

Pismo Beach 03-23-23 to 04-01-23

We planned this trip last year with our friends Ken and Jan Reynolds. We stayed here last year and liked the campground. We made our reservations but could not get sites next to each other. We are across the road from each other. The campground we stay at is the Oceano Pismo Beach State Campground, and it is only $40 a night. We have power and water but no sewer, which is a bummer, but we will make do. We expect some rain for a few days but are OK with it. At least we are outdoors and by the beach.

Boston to Canada Trip 08/29/2022 to 09/16/22

Barry and I were planning a trip to Hawaii. We planned to stay for about a week. During the planning phase, we were notified by his family in Canada his Aunt Marjorie (Smith) Henderson had passed away. Aunt Marj and other relatives would attend the family zoom calls every Saturday. Barry got to know his Canadian family better from these calls. We decided to hold off on the Hawaii trip because the family was planning a memorial, and we felt strongly about attending. The family planned the memorial for September, so we started making plans. We decided to spend some time in Boston before heading to Canada. We had an incredible trip; the following blog posts are from this trip. I still need to complete all the blogs for this trip....it's a work in process. Please enjoy what I have posted.

Honey Grove is known as "The Sweetest Town in Texas." When settlers arrived, they found numerous bee hives in the county.  I never thought in a million years I would visit Texas.  Just not a state I was interested in, even though my Dad was born and lived here until he was fourteen. 03-16-22 Crescent City, California (Day Trip - Grove of the Titans)

03-16-22 Wednesday  Crescent City, California Crescent City Jeeps in Parking Lot: 2 Drive Time: 0 Miles: 0 Arrived: 0 Woke up to a beautiful morning. Simple breakfast of cereal and a banana. Cleaned up a bit and ready to explore the Redwoods. We stopped by the KOA office to let them know our cable signal was very snowy and the cable line had water in it. Also asked about the channels. The channels listed on the paper with the map of the park is wrong. The woman behind the counter says they change cable providers often so it’s never right....uuummmm. No comment from me. We bought a couple of nice lightweight jackets and off to the National Park Visitor Center in Crescent City.  Zoom in for details At the visitor center I got my passport stamp and purchased a few stickers for my passport book. The Ranger behind the counter pulled out a map and showed us how to get to Howland Road and some ideas for hikes in the area. One he told us about was a hike to the ‘Grove of Titans.’ This...

2023-03-25 Saturday Pismo Beach Oceano Campground

My Man! Steps today - 14,442 Saturday, and so much for sleeping in. The Reynolds daughter Brook, son-in-law Aaron, granddaughter Kensley, and grandson Arik arrived this morning. Soon we heard Kensley and Arik at our door to say hello. They seemed excited to see us, and they gave big hugs to both of us. Then, they told us about school, and everything they have been doing, as much as an 8 and 10-year-old can say to you. Then back over to abuela and papa's RV.  Soon after, we were off to Pismo Beach. We drove to the left, went as far as we could, then turned around and headed toward the far-end gate. The part of the beach you can drive on was so short compared to before, but it was due to the recent storms. The Reynolds were ahead of us, and as we passed the first gate, a guy flagged us down.
