05-19-2025, Florida Key West Trip 3/27 – 6/30 2025, 96 Days, 7986 Miles, 44 Stops
19 May 2025, Boyd's Key West Campground, Key West, Florida
Jeeps– 5
Today is our last day in Key West. We leave tomorrow morning. We’ve had so much fun here; maybe we’ll be back someday. I sure hope so.
Barry and I headed downtown for some last-minute shopping. We visited Ron Jon's, CVS, and Local Color (my favorite boutique). We walked from Ron Jon's to Local Color and took a route we had not walked before. There's a wooden walkway we took along the water. It was in the shade most of the way, so I loved it. On the way, we passed Jimmy Buffett's Recording Studio, which we saw from the Trolley tour the other day. It's a white square building with stickers all over it.
When we finished our shopping, we went back to our RV. We ate leftovers for lunch, and Barry got the RV ready for tomorrow while I cleaned the inside and did laundry. I checked with J&K to see if they wanted to watch our last sunset in Key West, and they are in. Sunset was at 8:05 PM. I had plenty of time to finish my chores.
J&K came over and petted the black chicken. She likes our area, climbs on our steps, and looks at her reflection. She will let you pet her gently and talk to us when we do. She will be sad when we leave.
We made roadies and headed to the U. S. Coast Guard Cutter Ingham. It seemed to be the best place to watch the sunset. Not many people were in this area, so it was great. We settled on the concrete to watch all the boats come out and the sunset, which was beautiful. I took many photos as sailing boats moved in front of the sun. The weather was perfect.
What a nice way to end our trip.
