06-13-2026 Saturday, Chores Day

Image
We went to Walmart and picked up a few things: a coffee frother, a sewer hose, bananas, pillowcases, pillow covers, and pillows. I’m having issues with our pillow and need something firmer. Yesterday, Barry arranged to have the RV washed. She is so dirty from all the rain and travel.  I did see a Common Nighthawk flying in a field next to the RV Park. That was pretty cool.  Copyright © 2026 by Jacqueline Threet Henderson, Jacqueline's Jaunts. All rights reserved.

06-12-2026 Friday, Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho

Image
Since Ross and Malory had their emergency trailer issue, we have a free day to wake up late, and it was nice. We spent the day in Coeur d’ Alene. The weather was beautiful with just a slight breeze. We walked the boardwalk around  The Coeur d’Alene Golf and Spa Resort  that is down by the lake. The first thing we did was stop at a little kiosk bar and get a drink. I had a Huckelberry margarita that was so yummy and refreshing. We stood there and talked to the bartender for about twenty minutes, trading travel stories.  We decided to wander through the resort after we finished walking around the boardwalk. I went into a gift shop and found a moose stuffy for Emery. There is a book that goes with him, but she already has that. Hopefully she doesn’t have the moose.  I decided to let Barry take some photos of me. I need to change a few of my photos on social media sites. I usually don't like my photos, but I thought he did a great job with his phone. Now I just need to r...

06-11-2026 Thursday, Hot Springs, Montana to Post Falls, Idaho

Image
We are driving out of Montana today to Post Falls, Idaho. We loved Montana, and if it didn’t get so much snow, we would consider living here. I’m very impressed with the state, the people, how clean the towns are, and the amount of stuff to do.  The fields and ranches on Highway 28 driving out of Hot Springs were so green and lush. The highway runs through the  Flathead Indian Reservation . The reservation consists of 1,317,000 acres and controls most of the Flathead Lake area. I can’t express enough how lush, green, and beautiful this drive is.  Can’t remember where, but we saw a huge skeleton dressed as Uncle Sam. It must have been fifteen feet tall.  We rolled into Post Falls around 2:00 PM. The campground is only about three years old, so the trees are still young. The sites are concrete and level. The only downfall is that the site is above the freeway, so you hear a lot of road noise. Once settled, we were off to Ross and Malory’s for dinner. First time we get ...

06-10-2026 Wednesday, Sophia Springs Camp Ground, Hot Springs, Montana

Image
The drive from Kalispell/Whitefish KOA was along Flathead Lake. This is a huge lake, with lots of small towns along the drive. They all looked like great little communities. Hot Springs is a very small town, with a population of only 200, according to the last census. It was a destination in the early 20s and 30s for their hot springs. Thought we would be able to relax for the next few days and enjoy some of the hot springs...not so much. We pulled into Sophis Hot Springs, and the site we were told in our email to park in was taken. The park has only eight sites and is in the middle of a neighborhood. Barry called the number we had and left a message. We waited for a few minutes for a return call. We thought maybe we had the wrong address. He unhooked the jeep and drove around the block looking for the office. When he got back to the sites, a woman flagged him down, and she happened to be the owner. The person on our site decided to stay for another month, so we were moved to a concret...

06-09-2026 Tuesday, West Glacier National Park and Glacier Distilling Company

We both slept for eleven hours. I can't believe Barry slept that long. It's not like him. On the other hand, I can! The KOA offers a free breakfast for its campers. We decided to try it out, so we walked over. They had French toast sticks, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, a large bowl of cut-up melons, cereal, instant oatmeal packets, juices, coffee, and some stuff I’m sure I missed. Lots of great choices.  The large rec room next to the breakfast area was video game heaven. All the video games they had were the old ones like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, and so many more. There must be twenty machines in the room. All of them cost twenty-five cents a game. These were all the games I played with my youngest brother, Shawn, when I was in high school. We loved playing Pac-Man. Ping-pong, air-hockey, pool, and fussball were also available.  As we left, we decided to walk out to see the pool area. Three-quarters of the pool was under a roof. There was a pipe sticking ou...
